A big black wolf just chased about 30 elk through my yard! I live 16 miles from Boise. First wolf I have seen here in 13 years.
I first saw the herd of elk running. That is very unusual here. I see elk at least a few times a week. I have seen coyote trailing the herd but they do not cause the elk to run. So I looked behind the herd, and there he was!
The closest other sightings I’m aware of are near Idaho City, another 16 miles from where I live.
Seems to me the problem in Idaho isn’t over.
